Jörg Schlaich
On October 17, 1934, the inventor of the solar tower, Jörg Schlaich, was born. When he was born, Schlaich was born as the son of a Lutheran minister. After finishing school, Schlaich went to college. While in his college years, he studied engineering at different places such as the University of Stuttgart, Technical University of Berlin, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1963, Jörg Schlaich joined the partnership office of Leonhardt-Andrä. After working with Leonhardt-Andrä Partnership, Schlaich founded one of the next major events of his life. In 1980, Schlaich founded an engineering business with Rudolph Bergermann. From there on out, he began to make progress with solar towers.
